Instron, 4205 Instrument description Universal testing machine for material mechanical property characterization Description and functionality Universal testing machine for material mechanical property characterization The apparatus allows to perform stress-strain tests both in tensile and compression mode for the study of the mechanical properties of material. In a typical experiment, the force is recorded during the sample deformation at constant strain rate. From the stress-strain plot, the sample mechanical properties, including Young modulus, stress and strain at yield and break point as well as tensile strength, are determined. The instrument is endowed with self-tightening roller grip and screw side action grip for tensile measurements and compression platens as well as load cells with 10 N, 2 KN and 10 KN capacity.
